In order to facilitate responses here are a few things to consider when asking for help to troubleshoot a problem:
Searching the forums does work This is not a statement made by moderators because we are lazy. Many topics have already been answered. Topics like problems with Activesync, unlocking phones, and hacks are posted countless times. Please take your time in reading and searching around.
Here is a tip about searching: Use the best and least amount of key phrases to help you narrow what you are looking for. For example, if you are searching for help because you cannot Synchronize your contacts and you are getting an error message saying "could not sync error code 452" then you may want to try typing in something like "activesync error code 452" but if you type in "windows mobile Motorola q9m cannot sync contacts" you are causing your search to be to wide and not specific enough. You will probably find it but it will take you a longer time to do so. Too short of a message and you won't find anything, so be specific.
Other times it is beneficial to know where to search. If you are looking for a program there's a search function in the downloads area too. If you are viewing a thread that has a lot of pages like the Hacks thread, it is beneficial to scroll to the top of the thread and use the "search this thread" box to find what you are looking for.
Be as detailed as possible about what you need help with. One line questions such as "I can't connect to the internet, please help" are going to be followed by more questions. The more details you give, the more we will be able to help you.
Details that help us figure out what you need are include but are not limited to:
Specific Q Model (IE: Original Q, Black Q8, Q9C, Q9M, Q9H, etc)
What Carrier are you with? (IE: Verizon, Sprint, Alltell, etc.)
State whether or not you come to this problem in the process of or after flashing your phone. Many problems are attributed to flashing and we don't care whether or not you do, but will be better able to answer your questions if you tell us.
What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far if any?
If troubleshooting involves a computer, what kind of PC and Operating System do you have? (Mac, PC, XP, Vista?)
If you don't get an answer the next minute (or hour, or day, or few days) don't pitch an attitude. Sometimes people don't know the answer. Other people have lives outside of the forums. Your stanky attitude will only leave you and your problem alienated so keep a smile about. Your frustration isn't going to make your phone work either.
When you get an answer to your question please post what the solution was or remember to reply back that the solution worked so that others can benefit from your post.
To help with organization and keeping things together please try to post in the most appropriate area as possible. If there is no specific area to post in then by all means post in the general areas.
Lastly, this is a community forum so your participation is welcomed and encouraged. Thank you for your attention to this.
