I have changed this part of the correspondence because I have gained some knowledge from playing with the new hardware.
I have a dial up modem besides the Sprint moto-Q modem connection. When the moto-Q modem has been activated at moto-Q, the third line of the connection shows Smartphone Wireless USB modem. At this time I can connect and use the PC to modem connection. After disconnecting at the PC and deactivating the modem at moto-Q, the third line of the connection shows the other dial up device. Because of this ActiveSync 4.5 tries to use the built in modem instead of the USB connection. Is there a way to correct this???
My OS is WindowsXP home edition on a HP Notebook.
Any help would be appreciated!!!

My brother-in-law says that my problem is that I need to load motorola drivers.
I am using the moto-Q right now to connect to Sprint without the drivers. The reason I know is that I unplugged the land line modem phone connection and I am on the web.
At this point, I am not sure I have a problem except for the fact that I am a new-bee to the moto-Q.

I am using moto-Q as a modem and have loaded the 3 files that make this work. I have figured out the correct procedure to connect to the web and email with Outlook.
I am still getting the error message using Microsoft ActiveSync.
I think I have finally built a correct connection for using Moto-Q as a modem and I just did a speed test and got 32MB. I hope that this will be true every time I log on!!!
I am not sure I understand how MS ActiveSync is supposed to work. I was told the modem connection must be shut down in order to use ActiveSync. What software do you run after you get connected???
Yes you do have to disable the modem link to use ActiveSync. With modem link activated Windows will see the Q only as a modem, not as a PDA that can be sync'ed. Once you have deactivated the modem link, if you have ActiveSync installed, it should automatically launch itself after the Q is connected to your PC.

Hi. I need help using the phone as a bluetooth modem. I am with sprint and just switched from a A900 that worked this was. The A900 also allowed me to use the GPS. I feel like I took a step backwards...
I can use Moto-Q as a modem. The way I do it is activate Moto-Q as a modem and then the connection (third line of show all connections) knows to use the Sprint modem software on the PC. When Moto-Q medem is not active, on the show all connections screen, the Moto-Q connection third line of definition shows the ATT modem that I also have loaded on my system. When I try to Sync, the Sprint Connection trys to use the ATT modem software to dial out. What am I doing wrong??? Or maybe the correct question should be what should I do to Sync???
