I found when I was asking hardware and software vendors about support for Vista that if I sent more than one request I would get a different answer each time. One might say "we have no plans..." while another may say "coming soon."
i like how they say motorola is testing it. obviously the q8 has it, and its the same phone. its just if they put it, they couldnt rip you into buying a q9
The Q8 looks very similar to the original Q, but it is most definitely not the same phone. The original Q is a CDMA phone, and the Q8 is a GSM phone, using a different radio and chipset. Additionally, I have not seen any information suggesting that the Q9 will be available in a CDMA version for Verizon or Sprint customers.
changing from gsm to cdma isnt a very significant hardware change. few chips at most. you dont switch from xp to vista because you got a new network card.
In a phone it is a major difference. The power requirements and the driver libraries for the chipsets are vastly different. I doubt the Q8 and the Q9 share any internal componentry other than the CPU and RAM.
