EVDO Icon lost after restart... - Motorola Q

I put my new Q through it's first hard day. At one point, the beta Opera browser crashed and I had to remove the battery to restart.

Ever since, my connection icon has been 1X... even though I had EVDO at the library, at home, and other places before, now I just have 1x.

This is a SERO phone, and Sprint had sent it to me activated... each time it restarts to I have to activate EVDO somehow?

No the EVDO icon is automatic. If you are in an area where the signal is too weak or that EVDO has not been rolled out to yet, then it will revert to 1X. Other than that, not sure what to tell you. Have you tried restarting it again?

lol.. funny thing. I surfed on opera to HelloMotoQ to see if anyone responded, and it crashed again. Popped out the battery, put it back in, and it's been EVDO ever since.

Weird.

Yeah Opera tends to do that unfortunately. It's a much better browser than Pocket IE aside from the crashing thing.

I have free cdma-1x, but I dont have any EVDO plan activated. But to get connected into internet when I'm in a EVDO area the phone detects automactly the EVDO network, so it ask me about EVDO config (User and password). I need to try many times until the phone stops trying to connect to EVDO network and it starts the connection using 1X network. I don't know how to switch the phone to 1X at first and get rid of the EVDO. I don't want the phone try to connect to EVDO network as default. I need the default connection be the 1X. Can anybody help me? (sorry about my English)
