Swapping defective phone with Sprint.

So I received my replacement Q today to replace one that was still under its 30 day warranty. When I return the defective phone, will they notice if it's missing a battery? And, if they notice, will they care? If they care, what will they charge me? It might be worth the risk.

You can buy a spare battery on ebay for less then $10 w/ shipping. You must be really cheap...

More lazy than cheap, I already have the battery, it's only 3 weeks old, and if they'll only charge me $10 or $15 I'd be happy with that. If they charged $20 or more, I'd be upset. If they charged me nothing, I'd be happy - you don't have to be cheap to be happy with that, do you? Or, well, maybe that makes me cheap. Whatever.

When I swapped mine out at the Sprint store the guy gave me the old battery. I haven't used it because I'm not sure if it had anything to do with the problem I was having.

I wouldn't even consider it. Sprint may not give you credit for the returned phone if it is missing the battery, and then you will be billed for the new phone. I doubt that would make you happy.

I had the infamous black screen of death where I had to take the battery out and put it back in several times a day. I only put up with it for a couple of days before I went took it back. I had actually pried the battery out so many times that I had worn out all of the places to get a hold of it to take it out.

I had two buttons stop working properly -- camera and speakerphone. both lost their springy feeling and required several depresses before they would work.
