Hello everyone. I'm new to my moto Q. I've had it for about 1 week now. I like it and what it offers. The problem that I'm having is that I can receive a text message with a picture and save it to my phone, but if a friend wants the same picture, I can't send it through text just the same way I received it. It seems the only way to attach the picture is through email. Is there another way in doing this. I looked through the forums and just couldn't find the answer to my questions.
So -- with the Q, you can't take a picture then send it to another sprint customer? I thought all newer sprint phone with a picture package could do this...
I'm confused -- with every sprint phone I have ever had, i could take a picture and go to the "send" option and send it to any other sprint phone number and they would get it as a picture message in their phone.
This can't be done with the Q in this manner? But the Sprint site states (for the Q):
"1.3 MP camera/camcorder with flash and 6x digital zoom
Capture high-resolution images with the built-in camera and flash with 6x digital zoom. Create your own video clips and easily share them with family and friends. "
4. Press Menu (right softkey) to see the camera options:
To delete the photo and return to the active
viewfinder, select Delete.
To send the photo, select Send.... Your send options
are Text Messages, Outlook E-mail, or another
formatted email account.
To send via Bluetooth, select Send via Bluetooth.
To beam the picture via the Infrared port, select
Beam....
To use the picture as the Home Screen, select Use as
Home Screen.
To edit the picture, select Edit.
To view image properties, like the filename, select
Properties.
To view picture options, select Options.
that being the case, after taking a picture, and going to contacts and selecting a person and sending it to their number at xxx-xxx-xxxx, I just have to add another entry to their contact of xxx-xxx-xxxx@messaging.sprintpcs.com. - right?
Will they receive it as a normal MMS as they would have normally recieved it from a phone that let you send right to the contact?
If they send a picture mail to me at my xxx-xxx-xxxx, will it arrive? or does everyone now have to send it to me ONLY at xxx-xxx-xxxx@messaging.sprintpcs.com.?
I have bitched and called about this same issue... new user to q and just found this out. they said ( Sprint ) that smart phones are not able to do that... and its all bs. I had a 930 from nextel ( smart Phone ) and i sent pic to phones all the time.. no prob... good luck w/ fighting this... its a loosing battel... man i hope theres a hack out there for this..
If they send a picture mail to me at my xxx-xxx-xxxx, will it arrive? or does everyone now have to send it to me ONLY at xxx-xxx-xxxx@messaging.sprintpcs.com.?
So, my question is this. I did a trial email using my phone number @messaging.sprintpcs.com and it shows up as a text msg on my Q. Does this count as a text message or is it included in the unlimited email/web access? I did not add on the text messaging package as I figured that I wouldn't use it much anyway. So, before I tell others to send me msgs at xxx-xxx-xxxx@messaging.sprintpcs.com I want to know if I am going to be dinged 15 cents each time. That could add up quickly. Thanks.
