So you can be located if you call 911.

yea, there has got to be a way to hack it so that you can use it with google maps. I have found cracked GPS software online, but its all useless without the bluetooth receivers.

Bingo. ALL phones have some sort of location tracking method as it is an FCC requirement for emergency services. However there are only a handful of phones that will allow you to use the built-in GPS without paying the carrier for the option to do so. HP iPaq hw6900 series is the only one I can think of offhand. There's also the Glofish by Eten or the HTC Artemis but no US carriers sell them.

You can pay the carrier all you want it still don't work... I have the telenav plan because its required for a rebate, and neither it nor the Sprint TV work with the phone. After I get my rebate I'm planning on trying to have them credit the extra $ back to my account since the service doesn't even work.

Also if you use the Field Test Menu > GPS data. No matter where you are it never shows a location. I would almost be willing to bet that the GPS doesn't work at all, even for E911.

TeleNav does work on the Q, but as stated above you have to have a GPS receiver. It will cost you about $75 to $80 for a good one.
