Hey there folks in moto q land I am having a problem with my new moto q phone syncing with outlook express. When I plug my usb cable into my phone and computer I get an error message, stating that if I continue with the sync wizard I will not be able to sync my email contacts calander tasks anything that you would use outlook for. I am using windows xp, I have an att.yahoo.dsl email account, and I have installed sync 4.5. If anyone could help I would be greatful

Are you using Outlook or Outlook Express?

I am using outlook express

ActiveSync only syncs with the full Outlook.

I just recently found a way to sync with outlook express with the Q but it takes another email acct to do so (I think this only works with Yahoo email accts but correct me if I am wrong).

1)download and install Y!Go 2.0 onto your phone.
2)download and install AutoSync from Yahoo onto your computer
3)After installing AutoSync onto the computer. Go to Preferences from the icon on the system tray (bottom right of screen), go to advanced settings, click on "Contacts -> Microsoft Outlook, Setup, Microsoft Outlook Express, and One-way sync to yahoo. (other setting are at users preference)
4)Start Y!Go program on Q and press the button for options, scroll down to address book sync and let it work.

After all is said and done all your contacts from Outlook Express will be saved on Yahoo and imported to your Q. You can also use this to import contacts from Yahoo to Outlook Express by messing with the settings with the AutoSync from Yahoo in the Preferece area as stated before.

Also this is a good way to save contacts if you were to get a new phone and your contacts were not transferred.
