Hey guys, I recently went to the midwest to Minnesota and stopped by the mall of america and went into a Sprint store. I asked them if WM6 was going to be available for the Motorola Q and they told me that they didn't know. I then asked them if Sprint would give the motorola q owners a newer one with WM6 and he said probably not. I still cant believe that they are getting people to buy the moto q even if it is so outdated ,so to speak. Thats just plain out wrong because they are selling the old q and the new q for the same price.
Personally, i'm happy with my q. Its a bit of a pain sometimes but it works.
I spoke to Sprint about the same issue before i bought my Q9c, and was told that they will keep selling the old Q's until their inventory runs out. It's becoming harder and harder to find the regular Q's in the Detroit area, as stores have sold out their stock.
It is amazing, I can understand if they want to get rid of the phones but they are stiffing people by making them think its just as good. It embarrassing.
Funny story....I read about the Q9c being available to Sprint the Friday after Thanksgiving....at that time I had a BlackBerry 8830 Worldphone, but I wanted a phone with a camera. I went to a sprint store in Detroit and told them that I just bought the BB two weeks prior and want to exchange it on Black Friday (friday after Thanksgiving) for the Q9c, and asked if their store is receiving them. The rep told me, word for word...the devices are already in stock, HOWEVER, per corporate e-mail, they are not allowed to sell them until the old Q's are out of inventory....
That just didn't sound right to me, so I called Sprint and talked to a rep who informed me that no such e-mail exists and that this is a bunch of bulls**t (in not quite that word). The rep then called THAT particular store with me on threeway and placed an advance order for my Q9c, and not once did the store rep say no, I can't have it. When I finally picked my phone up at 9 am Friday morning, that particular store clerk didn't exchange a single word with me, just went into the storage room in the back after I started talking to a manager.
Thats cool, I went to the store and talked to an online rep, and told them since my phone is still under warranty i wanted to see if they would exchange the old q for the newer model and they said no. I like the sprint plans but the customer service and stuff like that is all messed up.
Well, Its not about complaining, its about our carrier and the manufacturer to provide valid support and OS updates. What if nothing was ever updated then most OS's would be crap.
Yes, it is interesting, because on sprint the q9c is fully capable of sending MMS messages....or whatever the equivalent on verizon is like the q9m or something....has it
