Is there any way to remove remove the line shown on my home screen

Yes, you can remove/move lines around on the homescreen. You have to edit the .xml file for the particular homescreen you're using.

Well, it's complicated to try and explain in a single post.

There are alot of tutorials out there so you could learn how to do it yourself. Here's a link to some good tutorials home screen tutorials - Motorola Q Forum | Everything Q

Take a look around and google it and I'm pretty sure you'll be able to figure it out.
