Question Business Inbox offered by telus

This is supposed to be a push email solution offered by telus... on average my email takes 10 or more minutes to be recieved, the fastest being 7 minutes... this seems much more like an automated send/recieve.

In my mind push should be instant... 2 minutes or less is what i would like to see for arival times, 5 minutes would even be better.

Perhaps my expectations don't match reality. What should I be expecting?

P.S. I'm now tring Emoze after browsing and searching this forum. I'll post my results.

There is a delay. 7-15 minutes or so. So it is not 'instant' but it sure beats having to connect all the time to find out you have no messages and wasting your data.

delay problem

the reason there is a delay when using emoze is because you have a setting in microsoft outlook that tells it when to automatically do send/receives

i believe it is set to 15 minutes by default

mando - are you saying that each time I do a send/recieve I use up some of my alloted data allocation even though I don't receive any e-mails ??

I currently have mine set for Every 15 mins, thinking that I have nothing to lose (except that I believe this drains your battery).

Can someone explain this to me. Thx.

You send data to the server in the form of a question and it sends data back in the form of an answer.

it doesn't take up a lot of data but it does add up over time...especially if you are only on the 4MB package. I would say maybe 10kb everytime you check. Not much but depending on how often you do it.
