Hey everyone, this is my first post here. I am about to go off to college and i am looking into get this phone. I have noticed there are alot of different software apps out there that seem to have to be used with the data plan. My dad doesent want me to get the data plan because of its price. would i be able to use software apps like fizz weather and moble messenger with out recieveing a huge bill at the end of the month bc i dont have the data plan? I hope you understand what i am trying to ask.
Technically you can use those programs without using Verizon, but you have to be connected via USB to your computer that you usually sync to (it creates an internet passthrough). But like swagner said, be careful when you aren't tethered to your computer as it will connect with VZW and you will get a huge bill at the end of the month.
From what I understand, Verizon Reps are told that they cannot sell the Q for the promotional price ($199) without the data plan. I'm sure there is a way around it, but man... a Q without an internet plan is like a car with no gas...you can only go so far with it.
Thanks for the help and i know what you mean, thats the only thing stopping me from going out and buying this phone right now. The data plan is just so much money. Doese anyone else think that verizons price for the data plan is just a little rediculous, if only there was a way around that. anyway thanks for the help
i was able to get my q from verzion for $99 without the data plan. I just renewed my two year contract with them because my old one had expired. If your renewing you get $200 off a phone, so it comes out to $99, and thats with my family share plan.
