Can anyone PLEASE help?!? I cannot get themes to work on my Q. First off let me inform you that it is a SPRINT. I do everything everyoneone says to do. Unzip on pc and so on. They are regular themes, xml and 2 images files or whatever and no plugins required. I copy the files to my phone using active sync, (4.2 and 4.5) using explorer to place files in application data/home. The files are on my phone when i go into file manager but no option to install. Theme is not under settings/ homescreen either. ANY HELP PLEASE!
To apply a theme Press Start, Settings then Home Screen. Change the Home screen layout to the name of your theme. You will need to scroll down to the bottom of the list to find it. Make sure the Color scheme and the Background image are both set to default.
the themes do not appear in the list as i stated before. after transfering to appdata/home what exactly has to be done in the file manager on my phone? does the theme actually have to "install"? sorry for sounding retarded but believe me i read every post on installing themes on this forum and a ton from other sites(about 4 hours invested total). im doing every step "by the book" so is there maybe another method to install?
ps. thanks! you guys are really great and so helpful. thanks for not calling me an idiot (to my face at least)
You don't have to do anything in File Manager on the phone. You just need to place the .xml file in \Application Data\Home. Assuming the .xml file was written properly it should show up in the list.
Look at the .xml file to see where the background image needs to go. For example, the following is from the default Sprint layout:
OK heres the scoop. i guess the few themes i was trying werent written correctly or something. i got a some other ones to work. i knew that i was doing everything correctly and i have done much more complicated mods to my phone. anyway thanks for the help, those were some FAST responses to my questions. If anyone comes across a cool detroit tigers theme let me know. THANKS
