I got full YouTube working on my Q via Pocket IE and it's really easy to do

I followed the steps to get this working but, alas, it doesn't. Can someone explain the correct way to play a video from YouTube?
I use PIE. Go out to the YouTube mobile page. Select a video. Click Watch Video. I get a Security Alert - "Running a system command on this item may be unsafe. Do you wish to continue?" I click Yes. It then brings up the Windows Media player and tries to play the video. It then stops with an unknown error. WMP shouldn't be called, correct? It should be launching the flash video player that's installed?
Anyway, I just want to confirm the steps and what I should see before continuing. I loaded everything on the internal memory.
So I did this for the first time myself, I finally decided to jump on the bandwagon and try it out.
In PIE:
- Mobile Youtube loads very fast and seems to have the same video contents as the regular you tube
- When you click on the "watch video" link it tries to load in Windows Media Player despite all my attempts to change the file associations to TCPMP. I followed all the instructions in changing file associations, installing updated flash video bundle, changing registry settings. Nothing works. Has anyone found a way around this to make it load in TCPMP from the mobile site? This would truly be the best way to experience YouTube on your device. - Regular non-mobile youtube loads slowly, pages take hella-long to load the images but you can load videos and they load in TCPMP properly.. and streams very decently. There are a few snags and bumps in certain videos but I expected worse. I like the option of being able to save videos.
In Opera Mobile 8.65
- Same as above for the first 2 points except for the last part, the regular site says I need a flash plugin. I did notice that it was a bit faster in loading regular you tube for those that insist that Opera Mobile is faster but is a pointless argument because Opera doesn't support it or the flashvideo bundle software doesn't trigger it to load in TCPMP like it does in PIE. Anyone know why that is as well?

These guys at XDA-Developers are wild.. was reading through this thread and they found a hack to get flash mobile 7 on the phone to browse youtube. One poster said they got it to work on their Q. I'm not brave enough to go that far.

I am on my third Q9m. I love this phone but they keep freezing up on me and I don't know why. When it freeze's up I try turning the power off but once back on it freeze's up on the Verizon logo. I am about to give up on this phone. I hate doing a master reset because I lose everthing.
Hey guys.. I followed the instructions on the first 2 pages.... What do i do now, I mean. Do i just go to youtube.com on my Q and click watch? I tried that and it tries to watch the video in windows media which wont work with youtube. How do you get them to view them in the TCPMP I mean, do you have to download the whole movie first or can you watch them on the internet like on a real computer. help please
THanks
Did you do this part? I had to do this to get it to work for me properly:
Quote:
After installing the programs and resetting, open TCPMP and press Options - > Settings - > Select Page - > File Associations. There with be a list of boxes. Scroll all the way down, check the boxes marked "Flash Video" and "MMS protocol" and press OK.
Then press Options - > Settings - > Select Page - > Advanced. Scroll down to where it says Manual A/V offset +/- and it the box next to it enter the value -400. Press OK.
To set the buffering press Options - > Settings - > Select Page - > Buffering. Set the buffer size to 1184 kb, preload at underrun 3% and video at 64 kb. Do not select microdrive.
To help with the buffering, press Options- > Video - > Video Driver - > GDI.
If you want to open a video in fullscreen, press Options - > Settings - > Select Page - > Player. Check the box that says "Play at open in fullscreen" and press okay.
Hope this helps!
