Do you mean firmware updates from the carrier and Motorola? Depending on your carrier there are as many as four firmware updates. Now that there is a successor to the Q out with Windows Mobile 6 I don't expect to see much more for the Q. I can hold out hope for a Windows Mobile 6 upgrade but I don't expect to see it. At the very least I wish the other carriers would get their Qs up to MOL4. That would make their Qs much more stable and their users much more happy.

There is a TON of third-party applications for the Q. A lot of it has been updated to be supported by Windows Mobile 6 but it still works just fine on Windows Mobile 5. There is software that was created for Windows Mobile 2003 that still works on Windows Mobile 5 and 6.
