Yes, I did. I made a separate Administrative account (needed for the sync function with Outlook to work). This did not help. In fact, what happened was odd. Perhaps what I encountered will help others, so I will detail what I did.
From within the newly created PC account, I attempted to launch ActiveSync but instead of launching, I received an alert that a portion of the program was not present on the computer.
Moving back to the the originial account, I discovered all continued to work as normal.
To double check installation errors, I uninstalled ActiveSync and reinstalled. When beginning the sync process on the original account, the notice for renaming this new sync account was shown. I had selected account name 2 and the resync began anew with Outlook (2003).
Not wanting to establish a totally new account, I stopped the action, unistalled/reinstalled again (hoping it would help clear the account names and tags) and learned that syncing now required me to delete one of the two previous accounts. Ack!
As it turns out, deleting the accounts means not deleting precious data but only those account names.
OK .... I deleted both account names, choose a new account name and synced up. At first, the sync process indicated all my records would have to be recopied and I imagined a mess of dupes in Outlook. However, Outlook took care of eliminating any dupes all by itself. All was fine with syncing with one MotoQ. That is where I am now.
(This same procedure was tried to same effect with ActiveSync 4.2 BTW).
Still, the second MotoQ can not sync with a discrete account and copy of Outlook. The second MotoQ can be linked to the primary PC account with all sync selections deselected. Then files can be dragged and dropped as needed.
However, the database for the Outlook portions either will not transfer or I can't find it. This is bothersome. The whole point of this excercise is to back up the Outlook data and sync Calendar functions.
I believe the instructions allow for separate accounts on one PC to sync to separate smartphones. However, I still can't do it.
