I am a new Verizon customer and a new owner of the Q. Just today I downloaded and installed the Yahoo GO! application. It seems like a great applicaiton, but after reading some other forums on the internet, I'm concerned that Yahoo GO! uses SMS and MMS (TXT messaging) to send/receive emails. I have an unlimited data plan, but I have to pay for TXT messaging. Can anyone confirm whether or not there are any SMS or MMS charges (TXT messaging) while using the Yahoo GO! application.
Does it use MMS to download/send emails?
Or does it just use data access?
I know at least once when you set it up, it sends an SMS to log your device into yahoo.
well actually, I'm trying to ask a couple different reader groups. Those from Verizon and those in the "3rd party applications". Wasn't sure where to post it so I thought I'd cover my bases. I'll edit this one to make it more specific to the Verizon carrier forum.

Gee, I get a message that says that Yahoo Go doesn't support the Verizon Q.
Not sure if you got this solved but if you have unlimited data you can get 2000 free sms messages a month. This is specifcally to address this issue.
Call verizon and ask for the PDA 200 Allowance. They will even reimburse you (They have reimbursed over $200 for me) for already charged SMS. They should have added thisto your account upon activation and probly missed it like they did on mine. Try and google PDA SMS 2000 ALLOWANCE and you will se it mentioned in multiple other forums.
Hope this helps. You can then use yahoo go like I do. I have not gone over the 2000 yet but do get pretty close with my work exchange server using sms as well.
